The Perfect Passion
I've discovered a second passion
that perfectly fits my many moods. When I seek serenity, the
simplicity of this endeavor carries me away, allowing my sprit to
repair and replenish itself. On the other hand, when I need to let
it all hang out by physical expression, the poking of that single
unthreaded needle provides a cathartic release. I can poke and poke
to release my restlessness and regain focus, while at the same time
making art by using a single needle. If I get ambitious, I have a
multi-needle hand tool, and if I want to spend time in my studio, I
can attach the "Needle Punch Adaptor Set" to my Bernina Aurora 440
and poke to my heart's content. In other words, I can control my
level of commitment, and I can do it for a single dollar. All I need
to get started is a single unthreaded needle.
But let me caution you, it is very
addictive. It can take over your very being. It did mine. I do
needle felting, by hand and machine, and wet felting (my personal
favorite). And of course I offer classes on both. Check out my
