The following list of offerings reflects Rita’s interest in teaching in classrooms, after-school enrichment, Museums, camps, and youth programs. The classes can be tailored to meet special needs upon request. They can also be provided for quilt shops, Guild meetings and retreats. This listing celebrates the art and artistry of quilting with children and is a collection of quilt making activities that focus on building curiosity, providing inspiration and opportunities for quilting adventures. The Art and Artistry of Quilting with Children This program celebrates the art and artistry of quilting with children. It is intended for educators and youth organizers and is a collection of quilt making activities that focuses on building curiosity, providing inspiration and opportunities for quilting adventures. Build a Buddy This session involves making a doll in your own image. Techniques taught include how to design, create and stuff dolls and other creatures. There's even opportunity for embellishment of your creation.

KinderQuilt Nurture children’s creativity with this series of staff- and volunteer-led creative fiber activities. Pick up ideas of activities you can do at home as well. One hour, ages 5 & 6 |

Me, Myself and I Young fiber artists in this workshop will explore different fiber art techniques (stamping, foiling, etching) and media to create self-portraits. A self-portrait can be serious or silly and is your chance to “express yourself” creatively through fiber. 6 years and up |

Mommy and Me Here is a perfect class for mother and child or grandmother and child. This class focuses on teamwork. The child designs while the adult stitches the creation. 2 - hour class for child and accompanying adult |

No BooBoos Please This session focuses on safety. When and how to rotary cut, using binder clips instead of pins, binding with fusibles demonstrates safety with irons.

On Pens and Needles Sketches and drawings, signature and autograph quilts…Children will be delighted with the colorful and creative projects they complete. Preschoolers to high school students will enjoy selecting from a variety of colorful papers or pens to create unique blocks which can be incorporated into quilts. 1 hour Preschool through High School Including After-school Programs |

Picture Us: Photographic Quilts Blend techniques with technology as we put family photographs on fabric and create a quilt that celebrates your unique family. We will be working with copies of family photos only, so no photographs will be damaged. 3 hours, Ages 8 – 12 - Great after school enrichment activity |
